My Song of the Moment: Ada- JESUS (You Are Able)

Don’t you hate it when you have a song in your head and you can’t seem to get it out no matter how hard you try? And it gets to a point where you’re annoyed because it’s alway there… occupying your mind – even when other things are meant to take priority.

Yeah? Well I know how you feel. It’s happened to me more times than I can count. But, for the past week, Ada’s song Jesus (You are able) has been on loop

And I’m 110% okay with it!

For those who don’t know – Ada, is a Nigerian born International gospel singer-songwriter, recording and performing artist. She started her musical career at the age of 10 as a backup singer for a child star. Since then, she’s carved out her own solo music career under Loveworld Records in 2009. She has increasingly gained local and international popularity through her songs and music videos.

I LOVE Jesus (You are able) for so many reasons, the main one being the lyrics. For me to like a song, the lyrics have to speak to me or the rhythm has to stir up an uncontrollable urge to dance or the melody has to tug at my heart. This song does all that and MORE!

They simple and easy to follow but it’s the context in which she’s singing that really sticks in my mind, especially the Chourus:

There is nothing,

Nothing You can not do,

Nothing You cannot change,

Nothing You cannot turn around

You are able, great and mighty God

I put my trust in You,

You are able, Jesus!

The chorus speaks to me on different levels. It makes me remember the goodness of God in my life and the it just reiterates who Jesus is and his amazingness.

I actually heard this song when it first came out a couple of years ago, but I didn’t register it or the impact it has because I wasn’t in the head space to really receive it’s message. I just remember it having a really catch beat.

Fast forward to the present, and it’s on loop in my mind. I play it in the morning when I’m getting ready for the day and it instantly brings me happiness, reminding me of God’s goodness.

It’s a simple song but it means so much to me and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.

Below is a link… give it a watch (the video itself looked like so much fun to put together) and see why I like it so much. Even if it’s not your kind of music, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the visuals and rhythm.

Peace & Love ❤ 🙂
