Concerned About The Coronavirus? I Am Not.

I’m just going to go on a rant about an issue that I’m sure everyone and their dog is aware of now.

The coronavirus…
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause disease in animals. Seven, including the new virus, have made the jump to humans, but most just cause common cold-like symptoms.

Am I the only one who isn’t worried about this coronavirus??

This has been dominating the news for almost a month now and it’s all very exhausting.

Yes, I know people have died from it which is extremely sad and unfortunate but I think we need to not panic.

It’s very important that we do not go into panic mode! It is also important that the government put the right precautions in place. Bringing doctors out of retirement is definitely not the right way to go.

Medicine and the health care system goes through changes constantly, so depending on how long these doctors have been retired for, it doesn’t t make sense to throw them back in into the profession to deal with a problem that the world is still learning about.

Someone mentioned to me that, it’ll get worse before it can get better. I couldn’t agree more.

My issue here is all this advice about what we should do – washing our hands etc. is something that we shouldn’t have to be told to do. In normal circumstances, it’s a given but because of the severity, everything is over-exaggerated.

I would like to stress that, I know this is a very real and serious problem right now, but I’m just expressing what I think and you may disagree. I don’t mind.

As I said before, everything is over-exaggerated. What I mean is the media have a tendency to “scaremonger”.

And as I’m writing this one, I’ve just had a notification saying that the cases in the UK have risen to 115.

What’s really pissed me off is the advice we are being given about health and safety and all that crap… these are things we already know about. We don’t need to be hearing it constantly.

My overall take on this is that everyone just needs to relax. Rake a breath…

Yes, be cautious and conscious about health and safety, but at the same time, we shouldn’t stop living life.

We should also be careful about how we behave towards people too, just because the virus has originated in a particular country, doesn’t mean that we should then attack or discriminate against people from those countries who live here. Be kind always.

I realise I’ve gone off on different tangents, but hey it is what it is.

That’s all for now.

Peace & Love ✌❤
