Writing Exercise Using Prompts DAY 3 (1.4.2020)

Prompt: write about a “betrayal” using alternate rhyme scheme in poetry.

Rhyme scheme is a poet’s deliberate pattern of lines that rhyme with other lines in a poem or a stanza. The rhyme scheme, or pattern, can be identified by giving end words that rhyme with each other the same letter.

On one bright and sunny day

Gus decided he would go to a soiree

With music, laughter and dancing on the street

George his best friend he would meet

What awaited Gus he did not like

For him it was a gut wrenching sight

Overwhelmed in self pity

He felt more and more shitty

Goerge was with Gus’ crush

Stark naked rolling around in a bush

Away he turned as he saw her toes curl

Just in time for them to see him hurl

I made this a bit lighthearted in it’s direction. I dislike writing this style of poetry as I can never come up with words, but I thought I’d give it a shot.
